Privacy policy
This site collects personal data in one place only: the quote request form. Here is what is collected, why, for how long, who else has access to it, and how to object. Last updated: 20 August 2026.
Data controller
Prestige Tapis Bruxelles, place du Grand Sablon, 1000 Brussels, is the data controller within the meaning of article 4.7 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, known as the GDPR.
Contact for any question relating to data: prestigetapisbruxelles@gmail.com or +32 478 05 84 84. The company has not appointed a data protection officer: its processing does not fall within any of the cases that require one under article 37 of the GDPR. Requests are therefore handled directly at that address.
The processing is also governed by the Belgian Act of 30 July 2018 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data.
What data, and why
The form collects your name, your telephone number, your e-mail address, your town, the message you write, and the photographs you attach where applicable. Nothing else is asked for, and nothing is inferred from your browsing.
There is a single purpose: to answer your request. To draw up a purchase offer, a quote for washing, for restoration or for fitted-carpet maintenance, to arrange a collection, and to follow up that file.
Legal basis: article 6.1.b of the GDPR, which covers pre-contractual steps taken at your request. Following up the file after our answer rests on the legitimate interest of the company within the meaning of article 6.1.f, namely keeping a record of the quotes issued and the rugs seen.
The town is used to determine whether you are within our call-out area and to arrange the collection. The photographs serve the diagnosis and nothing else: they are neither published nor used as commercial references, unless you give separate written agreement.
No profiling, no automated decision-making, no unsolicited marketing. We ask for no sensitive data within the meaning of article 9 of the GDPR: please do not write any in the message field.
For how long
Request that came to nothing: twelve months from the last exchange, then deletion. That period makes it possible to find a valuation again when a customer comes back after thinking it over.
File that led to work or to a sale: seven years, the period for which Belgian accounting legislation requires books and supporting documents to be kept. Only the data needed for that obligation are kept until then.
Photographs: deleted with the file, or earlier on simple request from you, as soon as the quote has been drawn up.
Who they are shared with
The form delivery service, Formspree, Inc. (United States), which routes the content of the form to our e-mail inbox. It acts as a processor within the meaning of article 28 of the GDPR, under a contract that forbids it any use of the data for its own purposes.
The site host, Hostinger International Ltd, which hosts the pages and keeps the technical logs of the server.
The company's mail provider: since the contact address is a Gmail address, the messages you send us pass through Google's servers and are stored there. We prefer to say so plainly rather than keep quiet about it.
Nobody else. Your data are not sold, nor rented, nor passed on for advertising purposes, nor given to another rug professional. Where one of the providers above processes data outside the European Union, that transfer is framed by the appropriate safeguards provided for in Chapter V of the GDPR, in particular the standard contractual clauses adopted by the European Commission.
Your rights
You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection and portability over your data (articles 15 to 21 of the GDPR). You may also withdraw a consent given at any time, without this calling into question the lawfulness of what was done beforehand.
These rights are exercised by e-mail to prestigetapisbruxelles@gmail.com or by post to the address of the workshop. We reply within one month, extendable by two months for a complex request, in which case we tell you within the first month (article 12.3 of the GDPR). Exercising these rights is free of charge. Proof of identity is asked for only where there is reasonable doubt about the identity of the person making the request.
In practice: asking for your photographs and your message to be erased once you have received the quote is entirely legitimate, and we do it without questioning the reason.
Cookies and technical logs
The site sets only cookies strictly necessary for its operation and for protecting the form against automated submissions. No audience-measurement, advertising or social-network cookie is used, and no consent banner is therefore displayed.
The logs of the hosting server temporarily retain the IP addresses of connections, for security and technical diagnosis purposes only. They are not cross-referenced with the data from the form.
Complaints
If our answer does not satisfy you, you may lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority — Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels, contact@apd-gba.be, www.autoriteprotectiondonnees.be — in accordance with article 77 of the GDPR.
This right applies without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedy. Any change to this policy is published on this page, with its date.
