We buy your rugs, and we pay on the spot.
An estate to clear, a move, a rug that no longer suits the room. You have neither the time nor the appetite to wait for an auction: we come to you, we value the piece in front of you, and we leave with it.
Cash, within the law. In Belgium a trader may not settle more than €3,000 in cash (Act of 18 September 2017). Up to that amount you are paid in cash on the spot; above it, by instant transfer or bank cheque, the same day.

Only hand-knotted weaving carries collector value. We tell you plainly, including when the answer is no.

The back before the front
A rug is read from behind.
The pattern on the back is the piece's identity card. On a hand-knotted rug it is as crisp as the front, and the knots are slightly irregular — a weaver's hand does not count like a machine. On a machine-made rug the back is smooth, often lined with a glued cloth, and the pattern there looks blurred.
It is also where the knots are counted, where the knot type is read — asymmetric senneh or symmetric ghiordes — and where old repairs show. An honest purchase always begins by turning the rug over.

The original colour is still underneath.
A soiled rug has not lost its colours: it carries them under a layer of mineral dust and grease. Washing flat dyes nothing — it removes.

How can I tell whether my rug is hand-knotted?
Turn it over. On a hand-knotted rug, the design on the back is as sharp as the one on the front and the knots are slightly irregular. On a machine-made rug, the back is smooth, often backed with a glued cloth, and the design appears blurred there.
Do you really call out free of charge?
Yes, across the eighteen towns we cover, valuation included and with no obligation. We charge nothing until you have said yes.
My rug has moth damage: is it beyond saving?
Rarely. The larva eats the keratin in the wool and leaves the cotton warp intact: we reweave the weft, re-knot using the original knot and repile the area. Moth treatment always comes before restoration.
Do you work in Dutch?
Yes. The quote, the correspondence and the invoice can be drawn up in French or in Dutch, as you prefer. A good part of our area is Flemish or has language facilities.
